  Modern installation art, as a significant form of contemporary artistic expression, is celebrated worldwide for its diverse media, spatial awareness, and conceptual depth. This large-scale calligraphy installation, titled “Where My Heart Leads,” is hosted by Chinese artist Ioanna Lin , who resides in Greece. Set to open in the capital city of Athens, this exhibition marks the reunion of traditional Chinese calligraphy with modern installation art in Greece. It represents not only a cultural fusion but also an innovation and reinterpretation of artistic forms.

Calligraphy, an ancient art form in China with a history spanning thousands of years, is one of the key symbols of traditional Chinese culture. Ioanna Lin  integrates calligraphy with modern installation art, presenting this time-honored form in a completely new light. Using brush and ink on traditional rice paper, she transcribes 49 poems to create a space imbued with the rich essence of Chinese culture. These poems are a deep reflection on her life experiences, as well as her inner monologue, divided into three themes: elevation of the spirit, the essence of love , and the value of life.

The visual language of the exhibition relies on the contrast between black and white to reflect the balance of yin and yang in Eastern philosophy, symbolizing the harmony between strength and softness, interiority and exteriority, reality and abstraction. Each work is not merely a piece of calligraphy but a materialization of thought and emotion. Through the rhythm of her brushstrokes and the spatial arrangement of the pieces, viewers can deeply experience the breadth and depth of Chinese culture. This fusion of strength and subtlety embodies the contemplative and meditative spirit of Eastern culture, inviting the viewer into a state of introspection and immersive experience, where they encounter a profound sense of tranquility and vastness within.

Ioanna Lin  employs minimalist lines and spatial compositions to guide viewers through a simple yet complex exploration of emotion and philosophy. Each corner of the exhibition becomes a space for the artist and audience to engage in a dialogue of the heart. As visitors wander through the exhibit, they are invited to reflect and resonate with the intersection of Eastern culture and personal life experiences.

No experience is required. All workshops are designed for beginners, and you will receive step-by-step guidance. Everyone can enjoy, create, and complete their artwork.


2. How long does each workshop last?

Most experiences last 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on the workshop type. Private or team sessions can be adjusted upon request.


3. Can I take my artwork home?

Absolutely. Every participant leaves with their finished piece—whether it’s a silk scarf, painting, or hand-carved stamp.


4. Is all the material provided?

Yes, all art materials are included in the workshop fee. For the Paint & Wine experience, wine and refreshments are also provided.


5. Can children or families participate?

Yes. Most workshops are family-friendly. Children over 6 years old can join with adult supervision. Team-building or private family sessions can also be arranged.
