“Where Love Rests”
Upon a quiet branch
two scarlet souls have landed.
Flame-feathered,
sun-washed,
sky-touched —
they do not speak,
yet everything is said.
Red burns without consuming.
Gold glows without striving.
Blue lingers like a prayer
between heaven and breath.
They do not cling.
They do not claim.
They simply remain.
Balanced on what seems fragile,
held by what cannot be seen.
Is this not how love is meant to be?
Not a cage of need,
not a hunger for assurance —
but a resting.
Each whole.
Each awake.
Each turned slightly toward the other,
yet rooted beyond the other.
The branch is slender,
but faith is strong.
When the heart abides in God,
companionship becomes quiet light.
Presence becomes enough.
Silence becomes sacred.
To love like this
is to stand in freedom
and still choose nearness.
Two beings.
One stillness.
Held —
not by each other alone,
but by the Eternal beneath them.
